Post like this seriously annoy me. Do you not understand what would happen if they saved Harry’s parents? Everything would be different! In fact, because they were saved they would have no need to travel back in time when the time comes so then they would still die…saving Harry’s parents would create a paradox! Why can’t people understand that?!
Because people try not to think about time paradoxes. Have you seen the discussions on Hermione’s use of time travel in PoA? They’re confusing as fuck. But I agree with what you’re saying. I can just understand why someone would post that. Not because I agree with it, just because I realize those who would post that probably aren’t fans of HP, and therefore didn’t take the time and energy to really think about what they were saying.
